Important Factors to Consider for WBID:
______________________________________________________________________________________________________
Class SizeThe learners in this course will mostly be new to online learning and students who are targeted for intervention. Individual feedback and support from the instructor will be necessary to help these learners master the objectives, so my course will need a lower learner to teacher ratio (ideally 6 to 10 students per instructor).
NavigationTo make the learners are confortable and familiar with online learning, I will use consistent icons, video tutorials, and reduce the "noise" of the instructional delivery as much as possible. Cognitive overload can occur easily for these students, so I will make the navigation of my course as straightforward and structured as much as possible.
FeedbackThis course will be self-paced, so the use of feedback is very important in helping students make adequate progress. I will create many pre-programmed automatic feedbacks in self-quizzes and web activities. The LMS also "unlocks" as students master objectives. As the instructor, I will make an effort to make my responses personal and prompt.
InteractivityThe course will not include any discussion components or interaction with their peers. I believe the objectives of this course will be best met with a Learner - Content Interaction Model with heavy instructor support and feedback. There will be a dropbox for students to upload their assignments and for the instructor to post specific feedback. Students can track their progress through the LMS Gradebook.
