After students complete the course, there will be several data sources I will use to evaluate the course.
Effectiveness:
Efficiency:
Appeal:
Effectiveness:
- HSA Scores. The HSA test scores (provided by the state about 3 weeks after testing window) will be collected for each student. Statistics for pass rates and improvement percentages will be calculated and shared with stakeholders.
- Final Reflection Survey. After taking the HSA, students will be tracked down by the Student Assistant and administered the survey.
Efficiency:
- Student Course Data. Using the Summative Data Spreadsheet, information will be recorded for the amount of time each student spent on various aspects of the course.
- Mentor/Instructor Interview. A mentor interview will be conducted by the Instructor to determine the amount of time students spent working on the course during tutoring and at home.
Appeal:
- Student Reflection Logs. At the end of each module, students are required to answer questions about the course in their Reflectional Logs. By submitting their url of the shared google document, they gain access to the next Module. The instructor will provide not only provide a grade and feedback for each module reflection, but will also gain valuable information about the students' experiences in the course. These reflections can be reviewed again after the course, and be used to make any needed changes.
- Log of Student Questions. The instructor and mentor will also maintain a "Log of Student Questions" throughout the course. This log can be analyzed after the course to see where students had to most difficulty and address these issues prior to starting another session.
