The Stakeholders
Sarah Welker: Course Designer/Instructor
Primary Stakeholders:
Instructor and Designer: Sarah Welker; will be responsible for designing the course and implementing it with students (at least at the beginning).
Principal: Kathleen Schlappal. She is invested in the success of the students in our school on state assessments for AYP monitoring.
Students: These high schooler students will need to pass this test to graduate, and hopefully this course will prepare them to do so.
Secondary Stakeholders:
Peter Cincotta, Secondary Math Cuuriculm Specialist for FCPS. He is always looking for new ways to prepare the students in the district to pass the state tests. An evaluation of this course will interest him if it proves to be an effective and efficient way to prepare for the test.
Stacey Adamaick, Principal of the Frederick County Virtual School. This could potentially be a course adopted by our district virtual school and used to help students across the county to prepare for the HSA test.
Parents: They want resources and opportunities for their students to prepare to retake a previously failed HSA.
Algebra 1 Teachers: This course could potentially be used a supplement for Algebra 1 teachers to use with their students who are planning on taking the HSA for the first time.

Expert Reviewer (Subject Matter): Chuck Welch has been teaching Algebra 1 courses for over 15 years. He solely teaches our lowest students in Algebra, and prepares them to take the HSA exam. He is very familiar with the content and the format of test, as well as learners who will be taking the course.
Expert Reviewer (technical): Melanie Kalmar is our school based technology coordinator. She is our local expert on network and computer issues, and teachers a web design course at the school.
Expert Reviewer (Instruction Design): The Edtech 512 classmates will be able to provide feedback on the instructional design components of the course.
End-User reviewers: Sarah Welker's students. They have all needed to take and retake all the of HSAs. Most of them have not still yet to pass the Algebra HSA, and are currently working on state-approved alternative projects to meet the requirement. They will be a perfect group to provide feedback for the course.
